Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic duties.
  • Troubleshoot faulty machinery and make necessary repairs to production machines.
  • Troubleshoot PLC and identify inputs and outputs in Ladder Logic.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawing

QUALIFICATIONS:

Equipment Maintenance, Technical Understanding, Technical Zeal, Deals with Uncertainty, Basic Safety, Power Tools, Attention to Detail

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate degree (A.S) Industrial Maintenance with 2 years' experience

Or
  • Certificate in Industrial Maintenance with 5 years' experience

And
  • Currently licensed electrician
  • Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with PLC experience and HVAC.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane, solid geometry, and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Able to respond to common inquiries by members of management, and effectively present information.

Must have above average skills in the use and application of word processing and spreadsheet software.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
