Delta Star has an immediate opening for Machine Operator.

Full Time, Night Shift, Hourly Position

Candidates Must Be Able to Learn to:

• Perform all GP and Level I duties.
• Use of overhead crane with minimal assistance. Assist higher level machine operators.
• Under the supervision of a higher level operator, plan and perform shearing and break press operations.
• Under the supervision of a higher level operator, plan and perform punching--Set up and operate punch with assistance of higher levels.
• Work with higher level operators to layout work from blueprints, sketches, specifications or samples.
• Work with higher level operators to sharpen tools as needed.
• Assist to detect and report to supervisor or higher level, faulty material, equipment, documentation, or unusual conditions.
• Assist in training and inspect work within department with assistance.
• Some preventive maintenance inspection with assistance.
• Good attendance
• Complete all necessary DIRS
• Perform all duties assigned by level 4, 5 or supervisor
• Drilling, tapping reaming, counter boring, countersinking, spot facing, grinding, and sawing on a variety of castings, ferrous and non-ferrous metal forgings, and a variety of sheet metal, bar stock, and rods.
• Work with higher level operators to:
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools or attachments.
• Use other applicable equipment under the direction of a higher level operator.
• Assist higher levels with the operation of Saws.
• Assist higher levels with the operation of the Piranha Machine.
• Possess a general knowledge of, and operate with little supervision, basic hand and power tools, milling machines, and all drill presses, grinders, buffers, saws.
