Job Summary

The Lead Agile Coach fulfills key roles in executing new "ways of working" and partnering with cross-functional IT and business teams to deliver value. The Lead Agile Coach will champion Agile values and principles in the organization, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. This role will partner with delivery teams, Product Owners, and senior leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for agile adoption and sustainment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development of coaching strategies and plans for agile adoption based on assessment outcome and transformation goals
  • Drive organizational change and advance Agile mindset by championing Agile values, principles, and practices
  • Lead initiatives to promote adoption and sustainment of Agile ways of working at all levels of the organization
  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous learning to support transformation efforts
  • Expose teams to the latest innovative thinking and ideas from the Lean, Agile, Product communities
  • Mentor and coach Agile Leads, Product Owners, Leadership and other related roles to build their capabilities and effectiveness
  • Provide guidance and support to teams and individuals in adopting Agile practices, overcoming challenges, and optimizing their performance and effectiveness
  • Provide coaching on discovery and continuous delivery of customer centric work, including creation of product roadmaps, user journey, story maps, product backlogs, and iterative delivery
  • Deliver hands-on coaching to individual teams in all aspects of scrum and kanban frameworks
  • Conduct assessments and retrospectives to identify areas for improvement and tailor coaching approaches accordingly
  • Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and learning resources to increase awareness and proficiency in Agile and Product approaches
  • Collaborate with internal and external training providers to design customized learning experiences tailored to the organization's needs
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to identify trends, assess progress, and make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement
  • Regularly report on the status and outcomes of Agile transformation efforts to stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Support efforts to define, embrace, and celebrate our organizational culture
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities, facilitate conversations, and drive execution of solutions that improve cultural health
Experience and Education Requirements
  • S. or B.A. required; advanced degree preferred
  • Advanced Agile, Product, scaling certifications or equivalent education
  • 8+ years' experience coaching teams and organizations in agility.
  • Experience with product management practices including product vision, strategy, objectives and key results, discovery, and delivery
  • Certification in Business Process Engineering, Six Sigma or Lean experience a plus
  • Experience working in financial Services a plus
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence) knowledge a plus
  • Advanced knowledge and demonstration of Agile principles, practices, and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Lean, scaled), as well as product principles and practices
  • Ability to create and deliver training content, workshop materials, and guides
  • Demonstrated ability to coach teams in environments where Agile is not fully understood
  • Strong leadership and change management skills with the ability to influence and inspire change at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated servant and influential leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and independently deliver on high complexity assignments
  • Exceptional presentation, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships
  • Ability to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate, facilitate, and coach across an organization in a virtual environment utilizing collaborative tools
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making and measure the impact of Agility initiatives
  • Knowledge of information technology integrations, development processes, and CI/CD

  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Some travel required (less than 10%)
