The Mueller Company is headquartered in Atlanta, GA and manufactures valves for water and gas systems, including iron gate, butterfly, tapping, check, plug, and ball valves, as well as dry-barrel and wet-barrel fire hydrants; pipe repair products, such as clamps and couplings used to repair leaks, as well as municipal castings, including manhole covers and street drain grates; and residential and commercial water meter products and systems. It also offers metering, leak detection, pipe condition assessment, and other products and services for the water infrastructure industry, as well as provides installation, replacement, and maintenance services on new and existing valves, fire hydrants, and service lines.

Job Description:

Monitor & control molding and metal parameters in the no-bake foundry within prescribed limits.

Essential Functions:

• Collect and analyze sand samples for grain size, pH, strength, LOI, etc.
• Operate lab equipment.
• Operate production equipment for calibration purposes.
• Collect and prepare iron samples for testing.
• Perform testing on iron samples.
• Record and report test and calibration results.
• Initiate corrective actions for out of spec conditions.
• Monitor foundry tests and document results.
• Adhere to all plant safety rules and procedures.
• Communicate results of tests and calibrations accurately and timely.
• Assist with troubleshooting foundry process issues based on data.

Required Skills:

• High School Diploma and working knowledge of computer programs Word, and Excel.
• Complete understanding of operation/function of lab measurement and test equipment.
• Must be analytical minded, capable of assessing test results and troubleshooting root cause of problems.
• Adequate communication skills.
• Quality conscious.
