Responsibilities

This position will be on-campus at FSU Panama City in Panama City, FL.

* Serve as a liaison with university-wide subject matter experts, contributing to policy recommendations and supporting organizational goals and outreach efforts for the ASCENT program.
* Oversee supplies and equipment inventory for operating systems, ensuring adequacy and timely replenishment.
* Investigate and resolve complex operating systems issues, providing advanced troubleshooting and IT support.
* Execute routine maintenance tasks to sustain optimal functionality of network and system operations and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalency and eight years of experience.
(Note: or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Security + certification
• One (1) year of experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to move or lift 10-15 lbs.

Other Information

The FSU Panama City ASCENT Program is a 6-year, $23 Million Project, partially funded by Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc., designed to contribute to the development of a strong, regional workforce in cybersecurity and new technologies. ASCENT aims to develop and deliver education and training resources for industry-specific certifications for Northwest Florida students and professionals to position them for job attainment and/or advancement. ASCENT projects focus on increasing the interest of K-12 students in engineering, computer science, information technology, and cybersecurity fields; expanding undergraduate degree programs at FSU Panama City to include Information Technology with a specialization in cybersecurity; and delivering non-credit customized training courses and testing to meet the workforce needs of our community partners.

The IT Support Specialist will play an integral role in ensuring that network and computer capabilities are supportive of outreach efforts while additionally advising on future software, hardware, and networking requirements.

Anticipated Salary Range

The starting salary is in the low to mid $40,000.00 range, commensurate with education and experience.
