Overview

SUMMARY

Eagle Eye Electric, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Instrument Mechanic for the Yuma Desalting Plant, Operations and Maintenance Support Services Contract in Yuma, Arizona. The Instrument Mechanic will assist in the performance of maintenance activities necessary to satisfy the requirements of the contract. These maintenance activities are those typically associated with a water treatment facility.
Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Installs, repairs, maintains, and adjusts indicating, recording, telemetering, and controlling instruments used to measure and control variables, such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition, using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Disassembles malfunctioning instruments.
  • Examines and tests mechanism and circuitry for defects.
  • Troubleshoots equipment in or out of control system and replaces or repairs defective parts.
  • Reassembles instrument and tests assembly for conformance with specifications, using instruments, such as potentiometer, resistance bridge, manometer, and pressure gauge.
  • Inspects instruments periodically and makes minor calibration adjustments to insure functioning within specified standards.
  • May adjust and repair final control mechanisms, such as automatically controlled valves or positioners, and may calibrate instruments according to established standards.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO's)
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an industrial Instrument maintenance, or completion of an apprenticeship program or technical trade school.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Excellent customer service skills, including verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Basic analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Promptness and timeliness in completing assigned tasks.
Preferred
  • ISA Certified or the ability to obtain an ISA certification in a timely manner.
  • College degree in the electrical or instrumentation field.
NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent in field with frequent opportunity to move about. Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Job is performed in the field and some office setting. During work in the field setting, the candidate will be exposed to an environment typical of the southwest desert. The candidate may also at times be required to work around chemicals typical of a water treatment facility

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • No supervisory responsibilities.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to the YDP property. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
