Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

This position is ideal for a motivated and self-driven Information Technology (IT) Intern. The IT Intern will gain hands-on experience in one or more of in-house Technology, Desktop Support, Application Development or Access and Provisioning departments by providing technical assistance with the technology and tools utilized by the respective department. The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, assist with the implementation of new technologies, and provide exemplary customer service.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to staff and customers on hardware and software-related issues
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer systems, hardware, and software
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues
• Follow established procedures and processes for computer maintenance
• Research and recommend solutions for technical problems

Job Requirements

• Currently enrolled in, or previously completed, formalized education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Knowledge of computer systems and software
• Knowledge of network and system security
• Familiarity with hardware and software installation
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to learn quickly and adapt to changing technology
• Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Working knowledge of one or more of the following:
• Administering Windows, Red-Hat Enterprise Linux, or other similar Operating Systems,
• Administering VMware, or similar compute virtualization platform,
• Administering enterprise virtualized storage systems,
• Software development in SharePoint, C# or Service-Now platforms,
• Administering Active Directory Site and Services,
• Administering and deploying end-user devices such as desktops, laptops, MS Surfaces, iPads and other peripherals,
• ITIL v3 or v4 knowledge and / or proficiency of a formalized ITSM framework
