Alteryx is searching for a Senior Security Engineer in our Redwood City, CA or Irvine, CA office. This position is hybrid friendly (WFH several days a week).

Position Overview

As a Senior Security Engineer, , you will be building an innovative security foundation architected for scale. You will partner with internal stakeholders to drive security logging and detection engineering programs, implement state of art security technologies, build, and manage security platforms that help secure the brand and protect Alteryx products, infrastructure, and applications.

Responsibilities

• Drive security engineering initiatives to support threat management and security operations priorities
• Collaborate with internal customers to develop requirements and prioritize work projects based on outcomes that drive risk reduction and operational effectiveness
• Lead and build the security logging and monitoring platform architected for scale for both on-prem and cloud environments
• Lead security data engineering efforts involving architecting, designing and operationalization of ETL pipelines and data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake
• Drive threat detection engineering efforts to prevent, detect, contain, and manage security risks, assist with security incidents, investigations, and root-cause analysis
• Support security automation program to enable security teams to scale to handle growing workloads based on various business process automation requirements
• Support peer and customer organizations in successful outcomes with respect to security requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience/training, Master's Degree in Computer Science a plus
• 5+ years' experience in security engineering or various security roles with experience across the technology stack
• Ability to build out a security logging and monitoring capability that is based on automation and orchestration at scale
• Deep understanding in security logging best practices and strong experience in technologies such as Snowflake, Azure Sentinel, Splunk, ELK, Kafka, Spark, Pub/Sub, etc.
• Knowledge in developing ETL pipelines in and out of data warehouse using Python and Snowflake Snow SQL.
• Strong experience in operating in major cloud environments such as AWS, GCP or Azure and the security best practices
• Experience in building and implementing security solutions such as SOAR, Email Security, EDR, Threat Detection Engineering, etc.

• Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PowerShell or Shell script
• Knowledge of network devices, firewalls, IDS/IPS, TCP/IP protocols, and general network architecture

Bonus

• CISSP/CISM, SANS, CNSE (Palo Alto Networks), CCNP, CCIE, or other Networking and Security certifications a plus

Compensation:
Alteryx is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Irvine, CA is $128,700-218,800. This position is also remote-friendly and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

This role is eligible for variable compensation including bonus and stock grants.
