Job Summary

Reading Hospital is seeking an Infectious Disease Physician with a strong interest in Infection Prevention to be the Medical Director of Infection Prevention (approximately 30% FTE) as well as providing both inpatient and outpatient Infectious Diseases consultation (approximately 70% FTE). The Medical Director would work closely with our Director of Epidemiology and Infection Prevention and Infection Preventionists to administer an effective Infection Control Plan in accordance with APIC guidelines and regulatory standards.

The candidate would be joining our Infectious Diseases team of three physicians, one PA-C and two CRNPs performing inpatient and outpatient infectious diseases consultation. Our attending physicians participate in medical education teaching medical students and residents. Attendings with interests in research have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials with the assistance of the Clinical Trials Office.

Qualifications

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Medicine (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Valid license to practice; board certified
  • Experience practicing medicine in hospital or private practice
  • Adept at diagnosing problems and creating treatment plans for patients
  • Highly computer literate and familiar with charting
  • Excels in communicating sensitive and/or adverse information
  • Sound judgment and expert decision-making abilities
  • Analytical thinker and complex problem-solver
