Job Description

Leveraging in-depth knowledge of the environmental and sustainability drivers, industry economics and trends, industrial processes and equipment, the Industry Market Leader is responsible for creating and executing marketing & commercial strategies to promote and grow Veolia Regeneration & Recovery Solutions (RRS) in the oil & gas, renewable fuels and mining markets.

  • Plan, organize, and direct all elements of strategic marketing pursuits, including analyzing information requested, completing an assessment of opportunities, developing a market plan and win strategy.
  • Monitor evolving industry trends, relevant economic & competitive data to assess RRS offering competitiveness and gaps in order to develop/adjust RRS strategic positioning.
  • Research, identify and define market and RRS service opportunities for specific customers
  • Develop support strategies to engage key customer subject matter experts in conjunction with business development & operations to capture identified sales opportunities.
  • Develop strong messaging and communications to drive cohesive and connected value propositions of core services and offerings in development.
  • Partner with leadership to drive strategic objectives and track progress against goals, including financial analysis and reporting.
  • Assess market adjacencies and service expansion opportunities for business viability & strategic fit.
  • Develop strategies in conjunction with operations, engineering and business development to commercialize Veolia's offering into new areas.
  • Effectively communicate market intelligence and provide recommendations to leadership to support business development activities in order to attain annual business plans.
  • Champion discussions with business development, operations, engineering and finance to ensure service offerings meet technical and commercial needs of our existing and future customers.
  • Lead the evolution and execution of the "Lead Generation" Process within RRS to grow industry touch points, identify key decision makers and increase volume of new qualified leads for the business development team of RRS.
  • Leverage tools such as CRM, digital marketing strategies (media communications, website/SEO management, social media, channel partners, etc) and delivery of in-depth, meaningful content (case studies, industry relevant papers, etc) to address the demands of technical & value buyers aligning messaging to industry segment.
  • Develop and own the annual plan of RRS promotional activities such as media, social media, community engagement, conferences and other customer interface opportunities.
  • Own the quality control of all written and visual content across the RRS ensuring brand compliance.
  • Support business development, engineering and operations with local market intelligence and research and analysis.
  • Partner on driving innovation (product, business model) and business development opportunities with the end goal of growing revenue and increasing profitability and market share.
  • Partner with regional, functional, and business development teams to identify, evaluate and engage potential partnership targets.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Chemistry from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of B2B strategic marketing experience in oil & gas, mining or energy industries
  • 5+ years of technical sales experience
  • Masters in Business Administration or equivalent is a plus
  • Experience creating customer-facing presentations, with visibility to top executives.
  • 5+ years experience working with cross-functional business units defining marketing vision and strategy.
  • Well-developed competence to think strategically, apply marketing fundamentals & demonstrate business acumen.
  • Proven ability to work independently while handling multiple tasks and navigating a matrix organization to achieve business goals.
  • Ability to drive commercial strategies by understanding customer needs & challenges along with industrial process knowledge to identify and clearly communicate the value and capability of the RRS solution to meet the customer's problem.
  • Executive presence including calm perseverance in challenging or frustrating circumstances
  • Recognized strength to define scope in an evolving industry, discipline to maintain focus and aptitude to work closely with RRS Leadership and business development team
  • Strong influencing skills across business functions
  • Ability to exhibit passion to motivate and inspire peers to communicate RRS vision and mission.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, good attention to detail and use of sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
