GHD is actively engaged in a Future Energy strategy where we are looking to provide our clients with alternatives for clean energy and energy resiliency by offering services for alternative energy generation, distribution, and use projects across the globe. These projects include renewable energy, energy storage, waste to energy, power to gas, hydrogen storage and transportation, clean fuels, clean chemical manufacturing, carbon capture and sequestration, and reduced carbon footprint.

Currently, we are seeking a Hydrogen Technical Specialist to be responsible for the growth and delivery of cleaner energy alternatives and renewable energy solutions focusing on several key areas: green and blue hydrogen, hydrogen blending in the natural gas transmission and distribution system, hydrogen fueling applications, and the use of hydrogen in power generation. In this role, you will work with the Future Energy Americas team, providing support to project pursuits, proposals, and project delivery in the hydrogen space on larger hydrogen projects and applications.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Builds effective relationships with key existing clients while growing the client base; drives positive client interaction, as verified through client surveys
  • Serves as the client manager for key clients and develops/carries out associated client engagement plans; undertakes Project Director role on significant multi-disciplinary hydrogen projects
  • Pre-positions for projects, develops opportunities, and acquires RFPs
  • Develops responses to RFPs, scope of work packages, budgets, and progress reports
  • Actively participates in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the GHD brand
  • Promotes and collaborates in the development of innovative project delivery methods
  • Actively participants in a Global Hydrogen Practice Group
  • Develops and mentors rising talent within the business and attracts strategic hires to develop the hydrogen business
  • Works with project directors, managers, and teams to establish and improve resourcing in the delivery area
For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in a recognized technical or financial/advisory field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy market with strong connections to the market in North America with specific expertise in hydrogen projects from a strategy, technical delivery and implementation standpoint
  • Excellent knowledge and demonstrated experience originating and delivering projects in North American energy market
  • Other skills - Excellent written and oral communication skills; proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff
