Great opportunity for a talented Operations Manager!

The Operations Manager works onsite alongside the General Manager. The role will be accountable for running independently the day-to-day housekeeping operations and directly supervises a small team of housekeepers. The role also promotes exceptional customer service at all times as well as builds a positive working relationships with building staff, vendors and other Oakwood divisions.

Key features of your day:

  • Run the daily housekeeping operations, including arranging for housekeeping services directly with the guest
  • Responsible for directing the housekeeping team, incl. training, supervision, and corrective disciplinary action as needed
  • Handle scheduling of the Housekeeping staff and ensuring correct payroll record keeping and data input
  • Conduct all matters of HR and all staff interaction in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Manage supply inventory and purchase supplies by use of Oakwood's purchase order processes
  • Verify rooms are in exceptional condition and conduct pre-arrival inspections
  • Ensure the back-of-house storage and staff areas are well organized and clean
  • Show vacancies to prospective guests
  • Assist the General Manager with preparing the arrival package, keys and the registration process
  • Assist the General Manager with our Reputation Management system (TrustYou) by uploading guest data and responding to reviews
  • Handle guest recovery process and escalate to the General Manager as necessary to ensure highest level of customer satisfaction
  • In absence of the General Manager handle room assignments for arriving guests
  • Assist the General Manager with guest needs pertaining to extensions and payment issues
  • Ensure all guests experience the highest level of customer service, generating a memorable experience
  • In absence of the General Manager maintain the daily operation and be sole contact for in-house guests
  • Assist and carry out minor maintenance tasks and moving of heavier furniture items as needed
  • May require occasional work on weekends and holidays dependent on business needs
  • Act on and report any safety hazards to the General Manager and/or building staff immediately
  • Serve as employer's representative to enforce all rules governing the premises under the lease and report any violations to immediate supervisor
  • Establish a good working relationship with the landlord's building staff , vendors, and service providers to ensure productive responses to maintenance needs as well as timely delivery of services
  • Supervise vendors, contractors or any other third-party working at property grounds
  • Other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Best candidates will have:
  • Socially engaged, passionate, and clear communicator
  • 7+ years of experience or substantial experience in high-end hospitality senior positions with a proven track record of operating Hotels &/or Serviced Apartments
  • A background in multi-family properties is beneficial
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including communicating, listening, and coaching
  • Effective in handling problems, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
