Everest Insurance®, the specialty insurance division of Everest Re Group, Ltd. is seeking a Head of Insurance Operations. This role will be based in its global headquarters in Warren, NJ and offers a hybrid work location schedule. As a key member of the Insurance leadership team reporting to the Global Chief Operating Officer of Everest Insurance®, you will play a vital role in overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the business processes, operational protocols and enabling technologies that support multi-year strategies across the globe.

This position will manage and lead the overall transformation of the operations functions within Everest Insurance®. This includes accountability for the staff and key processes in the following functions;

  • Underwriting Service Operations; Field Services, Risk Control, Premium Audit, Client Services
  • Process Automation
  • Business Process Optimization
  • Central Operations; Statistical Reporting, Department of Insurance and other Regulatory Product Filings, Product Development, Compliance, and Agency Services

Essential Job Functions

Leadership and management of the above referenced functions along with sponsorship and oversight to deliver upon various initiatives in support of specific financial plans and strategic multi-year plans. The fundamental areas of engagement for this position are noted below:
  • Work with the business and operational functions to develop and maintain effective processes, policies, procedures, protocols and controls to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the business and alignment with the broader Everest group wherever possible.
  • Create an intuitive UW support model that assures UW talent is armed with the tools, data and information to respond quickly to the market and enables optimal pricing and risk decisions within authority levels and Everest's risk appetite.,
  • Partner with Everest's technology team to ensure business readiness and project execution are within set scope, timeframe and budgets
  • Lead the continual development, implementation, and maintenance of the operational and digital blueprint ensuring its alignment to group for existing and future operations
  • Own and execute against a Target Operating Model that assures a positive customer engagement and makes efficient use of Everest Talent.
  • Lead overall digitization and process automation strategy for the business
  • Drive operational excellence and execution across the organization
  • Deliver holistic global solutions to scale the business through the progressive implementation of common systems, working practices, service levels and procedures.
  • Implement process change resulting from regulatory change, market reform or adoption of best practice.
  • Simplify processes to accelerate decision making and ensure continued speed and agility
  • Lead change management efforts across the division
  • Participate as a critical member of the Insurance Investment Oversight Board (IOB)
  • Create the vision and purpose for the operations function maintaining a pragmatic business focused approach which aligns to the broader Everest group.
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of operational professionals in line with Group policies, culture, values and local regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the business functions and key Everest stakeholders, all external customers, brokers, and 3rd party service providers.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree - Insurance certifications (CPCU, ARM, FCAS, etc.) a plus.
  • 20+ years of experience in P&C Insurance underwriting and support processes
  • Broad knowledge of P&C and Financial Lines underwriting
  • Experience in a multinational versus national carrier is preferred.
