Group Lead - 1st Shift - Shipping - Cleveland
The group lead person will direct the area associates in the process flow of a department in the distribution center as directed by department supervisor/manager. This will require knowledge of Distribution operations, VAS operations, and PKMS/WM System.
- Interact and communicate effectively with employees.
- Hands-on involvement with all aspects of the department operation with the tactful transmittal of directions, instructions, and procedures to a group of hourly co-workers for the purpose of performing basic department functions.
- Lead and coordinate activities of workers engaged in department activities and possible training of new employees in job duties.
- Ensure all work is performed according to company-approved procedures, standards and specifications.
- Provide a healthy and safe environment through monthly training for all personnel.
- Expedite process flows based on communications within responsibility of departmental operation.
- Must embrace the team environment and have good interpersonal skills.
- Run queries to determine department needs.
- Perform necessary inventory transactions.
- Obtain work orders from shift supervisor or computer.
- Prioritize work orders and assign various duties to employees as needed.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervision.
Set-Up for Daily Operations:
- At the start of the shift, the employee will review the work instructions and schedule with the supervisor
- The employee will obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare of operations.
- The employee will put on all the required PPE and safety gear.
- The employee will perform a daily safety check of the assigned forklift in accordance with company policy to ensure that all devises are functioning properly.
Compensation Information:$20.00 an hour
Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent work/education combination.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Good attendance and solid work record.
- Reading and writing literate.
- Working mathematical knowledge.
- Understanding implied instructions.
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and PKMS/WM System related to distribution.
