SUMMARY

Amerijet is seeking a results-oriented General Manager (GM) to lead the growing Charter & Postal Affairs (CP&A) team. Responsibilities include managing existing clients as well as developing new clients to achieve revenue targets; planning, and implementing the departmental budget, formulating policies, coordinating business operations, supervising department staff, managing operational costs, improving administrative processes, engaging with vendors, hiring, and training employees, and driving business to meet and exceed the financial performance plan. Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision in directing the department's business functions will assist our organization in maintaining relationships with clients, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service, ensuring sustainability, and meeting business objectives.

The successful candidate for this role brings strong aviation and air cargo commercial experience and should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, business acumen and, proven budgeting and numeracy skills, and strong leadership qualities. The General Manager Charter & Postal Affairs is accountable for all departmental business activities with a focus on safe, on-time and efficient charter flying.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

• Plan daily business operations;

• Lead the modernization of the CP&A technical platforms;

• Implement growth strategies consistent with fleet resources and customer demand;

• Generate on-time performance and long-term charter contract productivity reports;

• Coordinate with internal partners to successfully grow the business;

• Manage the performance of the CP&A team to ensure highest level of productivity;

• Design and implement policies by establishing operating standards and procedures;

• Keep management informed by reviewing and analyzing reports, summarizing information and identifying trends;

• Communicate latest industry and competitive developments as well as market conditions through meetings and trade shows and various training events

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management/Science, Finance or related field

• 10 years air cargo, charter sales / operations, aircraft AMCI/CMI and freight forwarding experience preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE:

• Advanced knowledge of freighter aircraft operations, airline customs requirements, dangerous goods shipping, and international regulatory processes & traffic rights. In tune to industry rivals and global charter & ACMI market conditions

• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership position with supervisory experience

SKILLS

The ideal candidate would have strong interpersonal skills such as effective negotiation skills, teamwork, dependability, flexibility, and responsibility to attend to all stakeholders needs and handle complex situations. Other skills required for this role would be:

• Ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality on assigned projects;

• Meticulous attention to detail and strong numeracy skills

• Competency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort required. TRAVEL:

This position requires some (10% to 20%) travel to domestic and international sites for trade shows and customer visits. Travel will include both air and road with overnight accommodation, when necessary.
