Financial Analyst

Salary: $40.00 USD Hourly - $45.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Financial Analyst

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide project accounting processes, ultimately supporting the CIS Programs, to ensure accurate and timely accounting results.
• Play a key role in supporting the accurate and timely monthly project accounting financial close.
• Monitor project accounting results to ensure alignment to established financial controls.
• Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and automation of project accounting processes.
• Assist in the annual budget planning process, including project managing key milestones, coordinating required deliverables within the Technology programs and FP&A.
• Monitor key indicators to identify and highlight areas of possible concerns, including collaborating with project managers.
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting package.
• Analyze project capitalization to ensure that project actuals and forecasted time are being recorded accurately.
• Help develop and execute training programs to ensure new Project Managers understand the project accounting close, financial components, and how to accurately forecast project costs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or Finance or related.
• 3-5 years of accounting and financial forecasting experience (IT environment a plus).
• Good knowledge of finance, accounting, and control principles, including U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) systems (e.g., Planview, HP PPM, etc.), data analytics, and prior experience driving adoption and improvements.
• Experience with financial reporting for a technology organization.
• Skilled with Excel using formulas and pivot tables and creating management presentations in PowerPoint.
• Oracle Financials experience preferred but will consider other ERP systems.
