Faculty in Mathematics and Developmental Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics at Southern Utah University invites applications for a non-tenure track teaching position at the level of Lecturer, Assistant Professor (NTT), or Associate Professor (NTT) starting in August 2024. The primary responsibility will be to teach developmental math classes, along with possibly lower-division mathematics courses. The successful candidate will show evidence of the ability to listen to student questions, explain concepts in a way they can understand, and provide student outreach and support. Department service and continuing development in teaching are also expected as the faculty member progresses. For rank advancement, scholarly activity can take the form of disseminating teaching findings and professional development, with service on committees in the department and college are expected. The teaching load is 30 semester credit hours per academic year, which generally includes a mixture of 3- and 4-credit courses. These appointments are renewable and are anticipated as long-term, faculty positions.
Review of applications will begin immediately. For full consideration, applications must be submitted by May 1, 2024. The position will remain open until filled.
