Position Overview

We are seeking an Executive Director to work in NPD's Global Contract Office. The Global Contract Office works closely with NPD's Commercial and Legal teams, and leads the contract proposal and negotiation processes for NPD's largest clients. This is an ideal role for an experienced procurement professional who wants to broaden their skill sets and work closely with NPD business partners on the sell side, negotiating large client contracts.

In this role, you will develop value based proposals (pricing and business terms) that strike the right balance between company and client needs, as well as lead or partner with Commercial teams on client contract negotiations. In addition, this high profile role will instill price realization discipline and impart best practices throughout the organization.

We are seeking candidates who have a combination of business acumen, strong negotiation and communication skills, as well as significant financial and analytical experience.

This new position reports directly into the Vice President of Global Contract Office.

Responsibilities

  • Review client contracts and account plans to identify potential areas of revenue growth opportunities.
  • Develop value based proposals that meet the needs of company and client objectives.
  • Utilize effective proposal and negotiation strategies.
  • Lead and/or partner with Commercial teams in client negotiations and presentations to achieve or exceed objectives.
  • Conduct post-mortem meetings to document and share learnings from each negotiation.
  • Ensure compliance with established global pricing and legal policies.
  • Prepare progress update reports for senior management.
  • Participate in the on-going development of proposal and negotiation strategies and share best practices throughout the company.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects on an as needed basis.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years combined experience in client or vendor contract negotiation, consulting, procurement, finance and/or account management. Client facing experience a plus.
  • Highly effective at leading large complex negotiations including multi-country negotiations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Significant experience in structuring value based proposals. Global proposal structuring a plus.
  • Proven analytical skills and hands-on ability to proactively engage financial data to gain meaningful strategic insights and make recommendations.
  • Strategic thinker who is able to develop short and long-term strategies, visualize possibilities and effectively sell those concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize and lead complex, multifaceted contracts under time constraints.
  • Effective at working cross-functionally, cross country with diverse groups and areas of expertise.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel & PowerPoint. Experience with Sales Force a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with internal business partners at all levels and with clients.
