What You Will Contribute:


Badger Meter is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to work in our Racine location.

This role will spend about 60% work on the production floor. Our facility is clean, air conditioned, with a great working environment. The manufacturing engineer is responsible for assisting with sustaining engineering's current product support issues, customer trouble shooting, and validation testing. This position will assist with process and equipment improvement. This position will apply engineering fundamentals to test scenarios, troubleshooting, and analyze tolerances on design. This individual must have the willingness and ability to learn, work effectively in a multi-discipline team, demonstrate effective problem solving, initiative, and motivation.

Required focused skills include:

  • Experience in assembly line and automation processes, maintenance, and implementation
  • Support Manufacturing Operations in a timely manner by troubleshooting production issues and making necessary repairs
  • Make effective use of appropriate quality techniques to assure the highest possible product quality
  • Support Manufacturing Operations in a timely manner by troubleshooting production issues and making necessary repairs
  • Routinely research, evaluate and implement new manufacturing, assembly, test, pack technologies that place Badger Meter Inc. in a position of technological leadership to enhance the quality, reliability and value of products and services to the customer while improving the cost position of the company
  • Create written procedures that support high quality processes and capable equipment
  • Maintain current testing and assembly processes and implement new testing and assembly processes to meet standards
  • Basic computer skills and upgrades

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree-Engineering capacity (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineer Preferred).
  • Previous experience working with the production floor in a hands-on capacity required.
  • 1+ years' experience (Recent graduates encouraged to apply).
  • Background in fluid dynamics, fluid mechanics a plus
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to process scenarios
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals to troubleshooting
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Project.
  • Creative problem solver with strong mechanical aptitude
