Position is remote and can live anywhere within the US.

Primary function: To develop process, provide oversight and confirm processes are being followed. The activities will require the development of quality strategies, policies, processes, standards, and systems Lincoln Automation Engineering groups will use to drive collaboration, quality, knowledge share and increase reuse of proven functionality within the organization.

Develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with required standards defined by customers or internal management. Regulate, control, and improve processes throughout Automation Engineering relative to how product is developed and quality of final products.

Manage an audit program to ensure all nonconformities are effectively corrected and verified. Create a culture of continuous improvement and support engineering groups to meet Key Performance Indicators and annual goals.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratively lead strategy to develop a Quality Management System suitable to drive agile product development across all continents.
  • Collaboratively lead the creation and implementation of a quality manual for all engineering disciplines (software, mechanical, electronics, electrical)
    • Software - develop standards and process for how software is defined, architected, developed, documented, coded, validated, deployed with all functions having feedback loops.
    • Mechanical - develop standards for how mechanics are defined, developed, modelled, drawn, prototyped, purchased, validated, introduced to manufacturing, deployed with all functions having feedback loops.
    • Electronics / Electrical - develop standards for how hardware is defined, developed, component selection, prototyped, purchased, validated, introduced to manufacturing, deployed with all functions having feedback loops.
    • Data retention - collaborate with IT and Legal to define policies for inclusion within Quality Management System to manage how data is stored and retained.
  • Document quality strategies, policies, and processes to drive operational excellence throughout all engineering disciplines.
  • Strong collaboration across a Global Organization requiring problem solving skills and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain Quality Management System to ensure it remains updated with procedure or process changes because of continuous improvement.
  • Provide detailed analysis of nonconformance and communicate lessons learned from quality concerns.
  • Ensure team members are trained in all aspects of the Quality Management System and maintain a log and documentation of training provided.
  • Undertake regular process audits of the Quality Management System
  • Conduct periodic audits to validate work is compliant with established procedures defined by the Quality Management System
  • Validate nonconformities are closed, communicated appropriately and additional training is completed if required.
  • Create and manage nonconformity database to capture issues and use as a resource to highlight the need for additional training.
  • Provide monthly nonconformance reports and presentations to engineering managers to provide feedback and all engineers quarterly.
  • Ensure deviations from normal procedures are justified and documented.
  • Support engineer managers to create quality targets aligned with business growth.
  • Provide regular feedback to all engineers relative to annual goals and Key Performance Indicators
  • Identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.S) in an appropriate scientific or engineering field of study such as Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering
  • 5+ years' experience in a Quality role or 10+ years in an Engineering role
  • Demonstrable ability to perform audits within a multi discipline engineering group.

  • Ability to write procedures, reports, business correspondence.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as regulatory, safety and procedural.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
