We are looking for a Controls Engineer to join our growing team

Job Summary

Responsible for the design of electrical and control systems for industrial production equipment used to manufacture components for our pollution control and dehumidification equipment. This engineer will work on projects from design through test. Provide technical support for sales, manufacturing, service technicians, and customers.

Essential Functions

  • Design, develop, and test electrical controls based on manufacturing specifications.
  • Design electrical schematics and panel layouts, create Sequence of Operations, Utilities Diagrams, PLC Ladder Logic Programs, and HMI interfacing Programs.
  • Select and perform calculations of components to meet project requirements.
  • Create electrical bill of materials and special instructions for release to manufacturing documentation.
  • Review all documentation prior to Submittal, Release, and Operation Manual for accuracy.
  • Support Manufacturing during unit assembly, wiring, and testing.
  • Support Technicians during installation and startup.
  • Adhere to Munters Quality procedures and project milestone requirements.
  • Participate in electrical design improvement activities
  • Support Production and/or Maintenance with process machine troubleshooting and/or upgrades.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Remain current on National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Travel to machine suppliers to support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

Job Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering ( a Plus) or ten (10) years of relevant technical experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in industrial controls design of industrial machinery.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience working with PLC based control systems including primarily but not limited to Allen Bradley PLC programming.
  • Skills for developing HMI applications.
  • Experience with ACAD electrical to produce electrical schematics, electrical panel layouts and utility diagrams is a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Experience in applying principals of the NEC, UL, CUL, CSA, CE and IEC standards.

Physical Requirements:
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer terminal, expansive reading, etc.
  • The worker is occasionally exposed to adverse environment conditions.
  • May be required to work in confined space
  • May be exposed to electricity or other power sources.
