Job Description

Summary

Responsible for designing, developing, and supporting hardware and software used a laboratory environment, including computer systems, circuit boards, hardware/software interfaces, instrument control and data acquisition processes.

Job Functions

  • Support existing software applications and hardware apparatus by identifying and isolating defects.
  • Design, develop, test and document software systems that interfere with laboratory instrumentation.
  • Design, develop, document, test and troubleshoot circuits and other electronic components.
  • Capture, analyze, and translate test method reequipments into production test solution specifications.
  • Ability to apply calibration procedures as part of a diagnostic process.
  • Diagnose failures in production testinf systems

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • Advanced software experience in C# required
  • Software experience in Delphi desired
  • Ability to reverse engineer existing equipment (i.e. documenting something that is already built)
  • Combination of Scientific technical knowledge and electrical / electronic knowledge
  • Strong EE fundamentals with familiarity in high speed signals, sensing, senor polling, flammable gas control circuits
  • Hardware troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of electrical characterization equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout
