Job Description
Summary
Responsible for designing, developing, and supporting hardware and software used a laboratory environment, including computer systems, circuit boards, hardware/software interfaces, instrument control and data acquisition processes.
Job Functions
- Support existing software applications and hardware apparatus by identifying and isolating defects.
- Design, develop, test and document software systems that interfere with laboratory instrumentation.
- Design, develop, document, test and troubleshoot circuits and other electronic components.
- Capture, analyze, and translate test method reequipments into production test solution specifications.
- Ability to apply calibration procedures as part of a diagnostic process.
- Diagnose failures in production testinf systems
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Advanced software experience in C# required
- Software experience in Delphi desired
- Ability to reverse engineer existing equipment (i.e. documenting something that is already built)
- Combination of Scientific technical knowledge and electrical / electronic knowledge
- Strong EE fundamentals with familiarity in high speed signals, sensing, senor polling, flammable gas control circuits
- Hardware troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of electrical characterization equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
- Working knowledge of schematic design and PCB layout
