Job Summary

The Creative Lab at FranklinCovey is looking for someone who is full of confidence and ideas. We're committed to our clients, excited by what we do, and inspired to build our brand into the future. To build this future, we need an editor with a persistence for punctuation, a special eye for spelling, and a copywriting flair. This position would entail 50 percent editing, 20 percent copywriting, and 20 percent project management. We need someone who is mindful, yet creative within the boundaries of brand identities and standards already established for each of our clients. In other words, think inside the box and outside of it too.

Essential Job Functions

Your main responsibility will be reviewing requested changes/edits from the client to ensure our designers implemented them correctly and make any needed edits to the copy based on grammar and the FranklinCovey style guide. Your secondary responsibility will be creative writing. We’re looking for a writing style that is creatively clever, persuasive, incites action, and creates or raises awareness for FranklinCovey. Your third role will include project management based up the needs of our senior project managers.

  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat’s editing functions.
  • Knowledge of basic editing marks.
  • An editing/writing style that is geared toward online/offline marketing content including, but not limited to, product information sheets, brochures, case studies, email campaigns, presentations, and advertising materials.
  • Works effectively with other writers, designers, content developers, project managers, and reviewers to produce accurate and informative content.
  • Conforms to our corporate style guide and editorial standards (a style guide will be provided).
  • Stays abreast of current industry best practices and identifies and implements strategies to increase readership.
  • Meets all deadlines, fulfills scheduling commitments, and consistently achieves quick turnarounds in a fast-paced, rapidly changing creative environment.
  • Actively participates in meetings including, but not limited to, brainstorming sessions, kick-off meetings, conference calls, execution of campaigns, client meetings, etc.
