POSITION - Union: Distribution Utility Technician (R-01926)

RATE RANGE: $38.98 - $45.63
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to read, wrote and speak English effectively.
- Must be able to understand and follow oral & written instructions
- Must be able to accurately make simple arithmetic calculations, be able to read mechanical drawings and keep accurate records
- Must have a good degree of Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn basic electrical skills.
- Have knowledge of the distribution system and understand the construction & operation of Distribution Division equipment and tools.
- Must possess a CDL License and a good driving record and have or be willing to obtain a Haz Mat Endorsement within six months.
- Must be physically capable to perform the duties required.
- Must have willingness and ability to learn basic computer operation.
DUTIES
- *Inspects, repairs and maintains Distribution Division tools and equipment under the direction of the Tool Maintenance Mechanic as needed.
- *Assists in maintaining manual and computerized inventory and maintenance records, of all Distribution Division tools and equipment as needed.
- *Performs calibrations of all electronic and leak detection equipment (i.e., analyzers, gas monitors, box and piper locators, etc.)
- *Performs assignments such as Tool Maintenance Mechanic, Distribution Fitter A/B and does other miscellaneous work as required
- *Delivery and pick of tools, equipment and other materials to/ from field crews and vendors as required.
- *Prepare and process computerized and manual documents within the Distribution Divisions.
- *Contact vendors and customers as required for thee purpose for scheduling, coordinating or planning Distribution projects.
- *May direct the work of one or more helpers.
- Performs other related work as required.
- May involve handling Hazardous- Waste. Training will be provided by the company to meet requirements of 40 CFR 265.16
- May volunteer for regular scheduled overtime and may provide on- call and shift coverage up to seven hours prior to the start of his/her shift. 3rd Shift work will not be allowed.
