Job Description and Responsibilities

Main Purpose:

Provide management for divisional operations and direction for overall divisional functions. Responsible for contributing to overall P&L of the business unit with greater than *6* *Revenue Units*

Key Relationships:

Internal

  • Branch Manager, Area General Manager, Regional Vice President.
  • Mechanics, Technicians, Laborers, Administrative Staff
  • Sales Staff, Estimating Team

External
  • Existing & potential customer base- focus on service work, project, and grinding.
  • Industry Associations

Specific Role Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and schedule/ dispatch day to day operations.
  • Order materials, supplies, and all safety/ PPE for branch operations.
  • Maintain and manage all inventory for materials, supplies, and all safety/ PPE needed.
  • Establish division objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Plan, staff, and supervise all division activities including personnel administration, performance review, defining functions, responsibilities, etc.
  • Maintain positive financial posture for the division and monitor cost analysis activities on a routine basis.
  • Perform and direct research and client contract to identify potential projects (customers), and gain admittance to bidder's list
  • Monitor overall quantity and quality of work performed by the division.
  • Maintain essential communications between Shop manager and field staff on a daily basis for efficient job preparation including equipment, materials, rentals, and proper manpower needed for successful completion of service work and or projects.
  • Drive organization's programs, policies, standards, and procedures consistent with corporate directive
  • Drive safety culture and objectives per Penhall policy including monthly safety meetings.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required by the division's operating needs or as directed by Branch Manger and Corporate directives.

Job Requirements
Requirements
  • Position has overall P/L responsibility and requires proficient scheduling, business development, marketing, and sales skills
  • 4 years technical or business administration degree and/or equivalent extensive experience in the construction (services) industry
  • Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy at a regional and enterprise-wide platform, with grinding and grooving projects
  • Technical sales skills, and estimating
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management with private sector and public sector customers/clients
  • Knowledge of market research in the transportation and/or construction industry, work with local city governments, CDOT, and airports
  • Proven ability to perform in a management / leadership capacity in a matrixed organization
  • Analyze the company operating plans and strategy to understand segmentation and the adopted practices by the company to improve these stats
  • Required to conduct market research and analysis of the environment to identify markets, service differentiation, pricing structures and specialized competitive climate as needed
  • Will assist in developing sales strategies, tactics and plans to achieve organizational sales goals and future revenue growth specifically with SGG work.
  • Highly beneficial to have active communications with Civil Contractors.
  • Seek out new customers, and sales opportunities to help build up the industry segment and meet growth objectives
  • Prepare time, cost, equipment and labor estimates for projects. Develop budgets, schedules and plans for the project elements
  • Establish and maintain proposal process, and conduct negotiations
  • Effectively communicate and leverage reputation, value proposals, and company scale with different presentations
  • Build up a better customer relationship, understand their needs, and make them satisfied without compromising with the company profits
  • Assist Branch Manager in monitoring sales performance goals for each team member to ensure sales targets are being met.
