The Purchasing Director oversees all purchasing functions both strategic and tactical. This role leads multiple teams and managers supporting purchasing and supply chain functions. This role leads the strategic buying group responsible for supplier relationship management, pricing, supply negotiation, RFP/RFQ process, as well as sourcing strategy. This role also leads the tactical purchasing group responsible for component ordering and inventory levels to support production and ensure supply continuity. Lastly the role leads a team responsible for all supply chain functions supporting new product introduction. The Purchasing Director will lead in all continuous improvement, personnel development, KPI development and tracking, and development of the purchasing systems and functions. Through their teams, this role will ensure supply continuity, competitive cost strategy, and support both financial and manufacturing goals for Henny Penny.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Leads the purchasing function through a team of managers and is responsible to oversee the function of purchasing for the company.
  • Establishes and ensures the polices for the purchase of services are adhered to and helps resolve issues with vendors or customers as needed.
  • Ensures the team delivers on established goals and departmental budgets within an accepted variance.
  • Establishes procedures for RFQ/RFP, bid, purchase order, or requisition process to ensure that quality standards for purchased goods and services are met.
  • Consistently models the Company Values and Expected Behaviors
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree Preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in management role
  • Supply Chain or Purchasing experience preferred
  • Proven track record of Price control and Risk Mitigation
  • Experience with system process improvement and integration. (ERP, MRP, etc)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Vendor Management and Selection
  • Effective problem solver and possess excellent ability to multitask.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment, as well as work independently without management oversight in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is critical.
