What We Are Looking For

The Global Sourcing Director will lead all aspects of Panduit's Strategic Procurement including the development of best-in-class category/commodity management, global strategic sourcing, and supplier management processes while utilizing Lean improvement techniques. They will develop strategic commodity and spend management programs. This role also oversees category/commodity management group activities including negotiation, supplier contract, supplier logistics, and functional purchasing processes. They will use a collaborative approach to gain maximum value from our suppliers. The Director will have frequent and detailed contact with all levels of management both within the company and suppliers providing goods and services to the company at a global level. They will develop policies, sourcing strategies, objectives, tactical plans, and procedures for the operation of procurement activities. This role will also negotiate major contracts.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure commodity strategies meet company objectives and bring competitive advantage
  • Employ knowledge and experience with Lean improvement techniques
  • Evaluate and lead commodity teams to enhance supplier performance, ensure purchase requirements, monitor supplier activity relative to pricing, contractual obligation, delivery, scheduling, and productivity
  • Establish KPM's that manage supplier conformance to the contract and to the expectations of performance to quality, delivery, quantity, service, and cost reduction expectations
  • Reduce lead time for procurement of material to positively impact overall time to sale of finished products
  • Engage in reviews with the business units and supply base, to foster collaboration and cooperation
  • Establish relationships with functional and divisional leaders to ensure commodity strategies meet the business goals and objectives
  • Lead or oversee negotiations with key suppliers and support commodity teams in planning and developing negotiation strategies
  • Monitor and report on marketplace index costs and make strategic purchasing recommendations to minimize cost and risk
  • Institute visibility in lean sourcing and purchasing which is well integrated into our total value chain and create a future value stream in procurement process
  • Partner with suppliers and evaluate the total cost of supplier relationships
  • Responsible for staffing and personnel management including recruiting/hiring, supervision, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, development/training, and terminations
  • Prioritize staff and commodity management workloads to meet product needs/objectives in all areas
What You Will Bring
  • Required Degree: Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • Certificate: CPM certification
  • Experience: 10-15+ years of progressive procurement experience
  • Broad expertise or unique knowledge to use skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
  • Ability to work on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of tangible or intangibles
  • Excellent independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Ability to create formal networks involving coordination among groups
  • Experience supervising the activities of others
  • Travel Requirements: Global travel, as required
