Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a state agency that, "Helps People Live Better Lives" every day. The Division of Public Health within DHHS, has an immediate opening for a Death Registration Specialist (Office Specialist) in our Vital Records Department.

Location: 301 Centennial Mall South, Lincoln, NE 68509

Schedule: 8 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday
Examples of Work

Under general supervision, greets and provides customer service to the public; follows established procedures performing a variety of clerical tasks to create, maintain and process vital statistics records and requests for certificates of death. Will follow set policies and procedures to assure the proper registration of a deaths that occur in Nebraska.

Qualifications / Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training in administrative/office support functions, procedures, and methods including the operation of personal computers and office equipment; or areas related to the programs and functions of the employing agency.
OR
Experience in customer service or public contact; or applying criteria/regulations; and/or performing administrative/office/secretarial support work including use of personal computers and office equipment.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in performing office support/clerical functions or records management activities. Computer knowledge. Keyboard. Microsoft office. Windows. Excel. Fax. Copy Machine and other office equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience in customer service both in person and by phone or email. Experience in data entry. Has the ability adapt quickly to changes in a fast pace environment.
