We're looking for a seasoned analytics leader to drive data-informed decisions for the Infrastructure Analytics organization. Meta's Infrastructure organization provides the backbone on which the company operates. Our work is currently playing a key-role in 3 company priorities: AI, Capacity and Efficiency/Productivity. For context, we spend a huge amount of money as a company on Infra. In addition to managing and optimizing this spend, we also are responsible for building, maintaining and optimizing all of the core systems, services, tools and platforms used by our employees across the company. Analytics is a relatively new discipline in Infra and we are looking for a seasoned leader to help build the team, establish the discipline and enable a data driven culture. This will be a nearly ground-up effort and there is a huge amount of opportunity to generate meaningful impact across the company. About the role:People leadership: You will inspire, lead and grow a world-class team.Product leadership: You will use data to shape development, quantify new opportunities, identify upcoming challenges, and ensure the products we build bring value to people, businesses, and Meta. You will help your partner teams prioritize what to build, set goals, and understand their product's ecosystem.Analytics: You will guide teams using data and insights. You will focus on developing hypotheses and employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, different methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to test them.Communication and influence: You won't simply present data, but tell data-driven stories. You will convince and influence your partners using clear insights and recommendations. You will build credibility through structure and clarity, and be a trusted strategic partner.
Data Science Director, Infra Analytics Responsibilities:
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
- Inspire, lead and grow a team of data scientists.
- Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data in developing data-informed strategies for growing and improving our product offerings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors/Masters in a quantitative discipline (e.g., AI, statistics, operations research, econometrics, computer science, engineering) with 10+ years (or PhD with 8+ years).
- 10+ years of work experience managing analytics teams, working collaboratively with Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization and strategy development.
- Demonstrated experience in hiring, retaining and scaling diverse, geographically dispersed, high-performing teams.
- Intellectual curiosity, drive, and decisiveness with ambiguous and complex environments.
- Experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders and cross-functionally.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Infrastructure or AI
- Experience at a startup or building/rebuilding large teams from the ground up
