RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Center Tech in Morrisville, NC.Summary:As a Rack and Stack Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of data centers by efficiently installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware infrastructure.Your responsibilities will include:Rack and Stack Operations:- Safely and accurately install, configure, and organize servers, switches, routers, and other IT equipment within data center racks
- Perform cable installations, ensuring proper connections and labeling
- Conduct hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics during installations
- Collaborate with network engineers and system administrators to ensure optimal placement of equipment
- Maintain an organized and efficient layout of racks, minimizing cable clutter and maximizing airflow
- Assist in moving and racking equipment as needed
- Validate hardware installations by conducting functional tests
- Ensure compliance with data center standards and best practices
- Document all installations and configurations accurately
- Respond promptly to urgent repair requests, even outside regular business hours
- Replace failed components, troubleshoot issues, and restore services
- Handle power cycles and storage media management
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.) within the data center
- Report any anomalies or deviations from optimal conditions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and facilities personnel
- Communicate effectively to ensure seamless operations and timely resolution of issues
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent; Technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA) are a plus
- Prior experience in data center operations, hardware installation, or related fields
- Familiarity with standard data center processes and safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 pounds) safely
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Salary varies based on experience and location

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
