Tuknik Government Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an experienced Cyber Analyst with a Public Trust Clearance to support TGS and our government customer in Cincinnati, OH. This is a Remote opportunity.

Position Overview
Plan, coordinate, and execute cyber related activities with System Administrators, Service Desk, and the IT Operations Manager to efficiently integrate tasks into regular IT operations, and to minimize disruption of IT services to customers. Prepare analyses and recommendations to strengthen the cyber security posture of IT systems. Collect, analyze, and document market research information for recommendations and implementations of cyber security related hardware and software.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Configure, manage, collect, and analyze threat and vulnerability data generated from products to include (but not limited too) Solarwinds Security Event Manager, Splunk Enterprise Security, McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, Microsoft 365 Defender/Sentinel, Tenable.sc, and Crowdstrike Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) product suite.
  • Collaborate with users to discuss data access needs, identify security threats and violations, and identify and recommend needed programming or process changes.
  • Review violations of security procedures and provide training to ensure violations do not recur.
  • Modify security files and applications as necessary to provide specialized access, allow new software to be installed or integrated, or correct errors.
  • Perform risk assessments, audits, and tests to ensure proper functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
  • Safeguard system security and improves overall server and network efficiency by training users and promoting security awareness.
  • Identify and recommend potential areas where existing data security policies and procedures may require change, or where a supplement is required to mitigate key security risks.
  • Maintain proficiency on Information Technology (IT) security trends, events, and news.
  • Prepare, manage, and oversee responses to system related data calls as needed.
  • Assist government staff in oversight of Cybersecurity policy and procedure implementation at remote sites connected to the Federal and Contractor General Support System (GSS).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications concepts and principles, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration; related software systems, processes, and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., hacking, disruption/denial of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
  • Strong understanding of computer-related security concepts, including (but not limited too) Risk Management Framework (RMF), Continuous Diagnostics and Monitoring (CDM), cloud computing, access control and authentication, defense-in-depth, firewalls, data encryption, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR), and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).
  • Proficiency with broad array of security software applications and tools.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a group environment with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Comply with the IRM Privileged Rules of Behavior (PRoB) including the guidance in the standard RoB relative to both standard and elevated user access rights
  • Participate in IRM weekly team meetings and/or other meetings as directed
  • Complete EMCBC training and briefings as directed
  • Travel as requested
  • At least eight years of relevant IT experience that includes a minimum of five years of Cybersecurity related work is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information System (MIS), or related field preferred.
  • Current security certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP+) are preferred
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
