SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Cryogenics Technician to support a Naval Air Command program located at NAS Lakehurst, NJ on the Cryogenics Team.

The Cryogenics Pipefitter assembles, installs, alters and repairs pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air or other liquids or gases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

Assembles, installs, alters and repairs pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air or other liquids or gases.

Completes lay outs, fabricates, assembles, installs and maintains mechanical piping systems which includes industrial processing systems, and high-pressure piping systems according to the working drawings.

Assists in lifting, positioning and securing of material and works pieces during installation.

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance with all applicable rules (federal, state, local, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code of Federal Regulations, Prime Contract requirements, etc.) for themselves and the company as a whole. Fosters an environment in which they will reportanyviolations or reasonably suspected violation of CNI policy, FAR, and/or CFR and are comfortable discussing the myriad compliance, conflict, FAR, CFR, etc. issues that arise during the performance of a government contract

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Cryogenics or refrigeration experience a plus, this job works with high pressure systems on a regular basis.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

All candidates must pass a CDL physical before being hired with annual retest and they must have the ability to lift 50 lbs (more is preferred).

Safety shoes are required on the first day.

Safety glasses will be provided.

Some travel within country and overseas is expected

JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Able to read isometric drawings of piping systems and draw ISO's of field run piping and fabricate from these drawings

Knowledge of machine parts, tooling parts, measurement tools, gauges, micrometers, Vernier calipers, height gages and dial indicators and ability to accurately identify tools in a timely fashion

Knowledge and understanding of proper tools to be used from reading sketches, diagrams, blueprints, written specifications, or oral instructions

Ability to interpret instructions, specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading).

Ability To use and maintain tools and equipment.

Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.

Knowledge of technical practices (theoretical, precise, etc.).

Trouble shooting skills.

Knowledge in the use of measuring instruments.

Ability to work in tiring and uncomfortable positions for extended periods of time.

Ability to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Pulling, exerting a steady backward, downward, upward or outward force against an object - jerking, plucking, wrenching, stretching, towing, drawing, dragging or tugging objects in a sustained motion. Pushing, pressing against something with steady forward, downward, upward or outward force - shoving, pushing, compressing, squeezing, mashing, packing, pressing, jamming, compacting, or squashing objects in a sustained motion. The ability to see and distinguish colors, to visually distinguish shapes and patterns, to accurately sense distances (depth perception), to accurately see objects and detect motion at wide angles (peripheral vision). Frequently uses the lower extremities and back muscles and moving on foot, particularly for long distances. May have exposure to indoor/outdoor adverse weather conditions. Frequent exposure to noise - workers must wear protective hearing equipment or frequently shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. Exposure to pollutants or allergens which can adversely affect the skin and/or the respiratory system such as gases, smoke, odors, mists, fumes, dust, chemicals, oils or solvents. Exposure to hazardous working conditions including moving machinery, electricity and/or working in high places. May be exposed to hot objects, flames or sparks. The job requires the use of protective equipment such as hard hats, respirators, aprons, gloves, special clothing, safety shoes and safety glasses.
