BCforward is currently seeking highly motivate Software Engineering - Core Java - Intermediate for Columbus ,Ohio.

Role: Software Engineer - Core Java - Intermediate
Location: Columbus, OH, 43240
Duration: 4 months Contract to Hire

• Core Java development skills as well as multiple design techniques
• Working proficiency in Core Java development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies with ability to work in at least one of the common frameworks
• Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development,application resiliency and security
• Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages
• Working proficiency in a portion of software engineering disciplines and demonstrates understanding of overall software skills including business analysis, development, testing
• Proficient in Code deployment, maintenance and improvement of software

Core Responsibilities:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent
• As a J2EE Application Developer, you will provide high quality technology solutions that address business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. Perform full life cycle design and development for the Operations Technology Applications. The position will assume ownership of the coding standards, code review process, source code management, and continuous integration process for the team. You will be responsible for the following
• Evaluate project requests to provide sizing estimates.
• Provide conceptual solutions and application architecture strategies.
• Assist business partners with requirements definition.
• Assist business analysts with functional designs.
• Create technical designs.
• Perform hands-on development for defects and new functionalities
• Assist and guide junior developers with build phase activities.
• Assist with defect resolution during system testing and user acceptance testing.
• Create implementation plans and back out plans.
• Oversee implementations and post-implementation support phases
