Coordinator of Student Success & Advising -Marian University's Ancilla College (Donaldson, IN)

Job Description:

Working closely with the Dean of Student Success and Engagement the Coordinator of Student Success & Advising promotes Marian University's Ancilla College Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by serving as the primary academic advising resource, ensuring that advising is student-centered and detail-oriented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University's Ancilla College by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values, honoring the legacy of the founding congregation, promoting unity in diversity, and integrating the Catholic Franciscan intellectual traditions in courses, programs, and services.
  • Serves as an engaged member of the Student Success and Engagement Team of ACMU and an engaged partner with team and position partners of Marian University Indianapolis.
  • Meets regularly with students to provide academic guidance, assist with registration, assess academic progress, and ensure students are on track to graduate.
  • Assists students with identification of academic goals and long-term career plans.
  • Assists students with developing an educational plan, including choosing a program of study and/or clarifying education goals.
  • Educates students about course planning and registration processes.
  • Manages student advising records including graduation plans and academic progress.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge about the Ancilla College of Marian University's programs and requirements. Consults regularly with academic affairs colleagues.
  • Provides academic success coaching for students on probation.
  • Coordinates the SPARK (early alert) system.
  • Updates and maintains 2-year plans for all programs.
  • Attends professional development series hosted by Marian University's Office of Academic Advising.
  • Promotes best- and promising practices for continuous improvement.
  • Reviews all midterm grades and requests appropriate faculty and staff intervention for students.
  • Assists with orientation for new students.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • To be qualified for this position the candidate must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent, with preference given to candidates with a master's degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with two-year College students.
  • Knowledge of and a commitment to the mission of Marian University
  • Adheres to Marian University's policy and procedures
  • Shows courtesy and respect in interactions with fellow employees, students subordinates, and supervisors
  • Communicates regularly with supervisor about Department issues
  • Meets department productivity standards
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Assists to establish department measurements that align and support the accomplishment of the University's
  • strategic goals
  • Adheres to the department budget
