Job Requirements:

  • Operating warehousing machinery or processes in an efficient manner.
  • Operation of pallet jack, fork truck, as well as battery rotation and maintenance. Yard truck as necessary.
  • Keeping the work area clean and tidy.
  • Read production schedule or customer shipping orders to determine items to be received, moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Receives products and materials from production areas or outside vendors to warehouse storage or other designated areas. Loading and unloading of trailers.
  • Working closely with the other personnel in an effort to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Good attendance is a requirement to obtain and retain this position.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for products, materials, or other stock items and distributes to appropriate production area.
  • Learn to use the inventory control system and complete inventory as needed. Maintain accurate and complete record keeping and pick ticket documentation.
  • Learn to use and become proficient in the SAP platform and procedures.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Employee must be able to perform all requirements satisfactory.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak an effectively and convey information to other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers.
  • Physical demands are representative of those that must be met. Required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Reach with hands and arms above shoulder height. Talk, hear, taste and smell. Lift up and / or move up to 50 lbs, regularly lift and / or move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift and / or move 100 lbs, frequently lift and / or move up to 5 lbs above shoulder height.
  • Will support and carry out responsibilities related to food safety and quality as required by regulatory requirements and plant food safety and quality programs, including SQF and 3'rd party audit programs.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humidity), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
  • Physical lifting up to 50-lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Shift flexibility. This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 3-shift, 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. This can either be days, swing or night shift and also includes working weekends. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits.

Position Responsibilities
  • Safe and efficient operation of production equipment, which may include: packaging equipment, conveying equipment, lift truck operation and filling equipment. Position titles are included in the classification list in the CBA, Schedule "A".
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP's) in detail without deviation.
  • Set-up packaging coders, validate product codes in accordance with code specifications.
  • Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions. Follow the established notification protocol.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments.
  • Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
  • Assist with equipment change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up and equipment set-up.
  • Product pasteurization in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Perform department environmental controls.
  • Perform product reclaim and rework operations.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Follow all established GMP's and Food Safety requirements.
  • Cross-train with other departments.
  • Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, actively apply the Saputo Company Values and Workplace Climate Policy.
  • Work together with co-workers and other department personnel.
  • Other duties as required by management.
