Our client in the Atlanta Area is seeking a Controller for a Direct-Hire, hybrid opportunity.

The Controller plays a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, compliance, and staff development across multiple departments within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement policies to enhance financial statement integrity and internal controls.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts and oversee transactions for AP and AR.

• Lead the month-end closing process and preparation of financial reports for review by senior management.

• Ensure compliance with weekly time entry requirements and manage notifications for overdue submissions.

• Collaborate with the Billing Manager to optimize client billing processes, establish billing guidelines, and manage collections strategies.

• Maintain accurate bank reconciliations, including trust accounts, and support benefit plan calculations and data consolidation.

• Coordinate with external tax advisors and internal legal counsel to fulfill State & Local tax filing obligations and ensure accuracy in income sourcing.

• Handle ad hoc requests from senior management.

• Assist in budgeting, variance analysis, partner compensation, and other financial projects as needed.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in financial management within legal or professional services environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; preference for a Master's degree in Accounting or CPA certification.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and tax compliance.

• Familiarity with legal software such as Aderant, Thomson Reuters or similar systems is preferred.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
