Zurich's Complete-a-Bachelor's Apprenticeship is accepting applications for our January 2023 Cohort!

Our innovative Complete-a-Bachelor's Apprenticeship allows participants to simultaneously gain the education and the experience to launch a rewarding career in commercial insurance.

If you have two or more years of college coursework from an accredited U.S. college or university (an associate degree, or rising junior) this is an exciting way to begin your career with a global industry leader and complete your degree tuition-free!

This two-year program combines coursework through University of Arizona Global Campus (UAGC), an accredited online university affiliated with the University of Arizona, with relevant work experience and professional development at the Zurich North America Headquarters location in Schaumburg, IL. Apprentices who successfully complete this two-year program will:

  • Work in a paid, benefit-eligible full-time position at Zurich
  • Earn a tuition-free Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
  • Receive a Department of Labor Certificate of Apprenticeship
  • Be promoted into their next role at Zurich

Zurich North America is offering three Complete-a-Bachelor's Apprenticeship opportunities within our US National Accounts organization.

USNA Training Team:

Under direct supervision, this role will provide data entry, administrative, & research assistance to the USNA training team in identifying, developing, and implementing technical training solutions to meet the needs of all supported business units within USNA. Works closely with Operations and Underwriting teams to capture and quantify knowledge and training gaps within each supported Business Unit.

  • Collaborates with and supports Training Consultants in the identification of training needs, and development of broad training solutions.
  • Assists in the documentation of business requirements, process analysis, and training solution workflows and/or implementation strategies
  • Provides administrative assistance in the development of training procedures, training materials, eLearning, and communications
  • Reports and communicates results of research to Training Consultants/supervisor
  • Support and assist Training Team Consultants in the preparation and presentation of progress updates to project stakeholders steering committee.
  • Contributes to achieving and maintaining a high level of data quality

USNA Salesforce Pipeline:

Under direct supervision, this role will support Salesforce Product execution aimed at building meaningful relationships with our customer and distributors through our digital experience platforms and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools. Works closely with Salesforce Product Owner to reinforce best practices in account and data management related to building a healthy pipeline for customer acquisition. Supports the critical set up steps for onboarding customers to the My Zurich North America platform and building platform awareness for our market-facing colleagues.

  • Partners with Salesforce Product Owner to capture feedback from customers, distributors, and colleagues to help us better understand how we can use Salesforce to build meaningful relationships with our customers
  • Complete data gathering, UW correspondence and onboarding set up for the My Zurich North America digital customer experience platform
  • Assists with quality review checks on project deliverables and user acceptance testing to ensure new features are meeting business needs
  • Participates in agile development practices, such as requirement gathering, backlog grooming, and documentation of process and design improvements
  • Supports post-implementation activities including release notes, gathering user feedback, and outcome reporting

USNA Design Thinking and Data Insights:

Under direct supervision, this role will help solve for and prioritize customer needs through creative thinking and problem solving. Works closely with Operations, Underwriting and Customer focused teams to hypothesize, test and implement solutions to meet customer needs.

  • Identify the needs of our customers and provide innovative solutions to solve them
  • Prototype and test solutions to find the optimal approach
  • Ability to move an idea from concept to fruition
  • Ability to analyze data and present in a digestible format for key stakeholders
  • Develop models / reports to gain insights on what drives performance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration or rising Junior with two years of coursework in Business Administration and no prior years of experience in the Business Administrative area. Contingent on admittance into University of Arizona Global Campus Bachelor of Business Administration program.

AND

  • Microsoft Office experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well independently and in teams
  • Time management and project management skills
  • Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint
  • 2 or more years of work experience and/or leadership role in student activities or community service activities
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
