Coding Manager, Risk Adjustment

Description: Judge Group is currently seeking a Coding Manager, Risk Adjustment to manage coding and process improvement for risk adjustment projects.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Reviews submitted medical records to identify ICD-10-CM diagnoses
• Codes all diagnoses and services accurately and completely
• Accurately records all appropriate data and records
• Complies with policies and procedures
• Supports coordination with customers, internal coding team and vendors on coding guidelines and chart reviews
• Hire, train, manage, and evaluate internal coding team
• Validate and abstract risk adjustment specific diagnosis codes
• Flag documentation that is unacceptable for submission
• Accurately validate and abstract diagnosis codes from provider documentation in medical records
• Analyzes and translates medical and clinical diagnoses, procedures, injuries, or illnesses
• Knowledgeable of medical and clinical terminology, disease processes, and pharmacology
• Complete assignments according to established guidelines and schedules
  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• AAPC or AHIMA Certification Required (CPC, CCS)
• 5+ years of Risk Adjustment Coding experience
• 3+ years managing a risk adjustment coding team
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines.
