JOB SUMMARY

This position will report to the Clinical Director and is responsible for the development and direction of the program/curriculum for mental health treatment for clients struggling with behavioral health disorders and to those experiencing SI or HI. The program will assure quality service to all program participants through available resources, assessment/placement of clients, and management of daily workflow as it relates to overall organizational operations. In addition, the Supervisor assures that all work is performed in a cost effective and service-oriented manner in accordance with appropriate procedures and established organizational standards. This role coordinates program requirements with other operational areas and has overall responsibility for the supervision, development and motivation of staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the formulation and implementation of specific programming goals and objectives;
  • implement and be responsible for meeting standards and guidelines recommended by regulatory and payor groups;
  • responsible for the formulation, revision and implementation of policies and procedures;
  • directly supervise clinical staff and indirect supervision of unit staff.
  • Ensures that all clinical staff receive prescribed orientation, in-service and supervision;
  • ensures that established personnel policies are followed; effective coaching and disciplinary action as necessary; complete introductory and annual performance evaluations for staff on a timely basis; plan and maintain staffing schedule to ensure excellent patient care;
  • participate in weekend on-call rotation.
  • Provides individual and group supervision to clinical staff
  • Ensures that all clients have individualized comprehensive treatment plan and an appropriate aftercare plan in accordance with program standards; present educational lectures for patients and their families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EFFECT ON END RESULT
  • Clinical services are provided that address clients service needs in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Services are provided by staff who are trained and competent to perform assigned duties.
  • Services are offered in compliance with agency, Federal, State and local laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration with other community services is strengthened and potential client crises are diverted.
  • Positive and effective local and professional community relationships are developed and maintained, including with contractual and funding sources, regulatory agencies, and professional association.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters Degree required in Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or related field;
  • MD licensure required, LCSW-C, LCPC
  • Minimum of three years supervisory experience in individual, group or family therapy;
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience in substance abuse or related field. Trauma training preferred.
  • Recovering individuals must have a minimum of two years of continuous chemical abstinence and must be active in support groups.
  • Strong problem solving and execution skills.
  • Strong PC skills in a Windows environment (i.e. Word, Excel, Power point and email)
  • Ability to use independent judgment and address conflict and find resolutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual in any language a plus.

  • The ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to transport oneself, consumers, and program supplies as necessary.
  • The physical ability to travel to assigned locations, stand, stoop, bend, reach, pull, push, lift, grasp, climb, talk, see, hear and perform basic and light home maintenance activities, and operate office equipment.
  • Move and lift light objects up to 30 pounds such as mail, supplies, files, and equipment.
  • Operating office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements.
  • The ability to remain in a sitting position for extended periods of time.
