Position Summary

A successful Cash Application Specialist must be able to work at a fast pace and be very detail and deadline oriented. Under general supervision, the Cash Application Specialist must be a team player, be able to interact well with others, and be willing to perform other duties assigned. They will be responsible for timely and accurate cash receipts posting and related activities of a clerical, mathematical nature; do research of Accounts Receivable posting transactions, and assist management with other activities as needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Sorting and remote deposit checks received from various sources
  • Process and post of all types of payments received daily
  • Assist with document storage and imaging
  • Investigate/Research and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Post adjustments as requested by Department Management staff
  • Communicate with customers, branches and credit department on various items as needed
  • Assist Accounts Payable and Finance departments with audit requests for documentation
  • Required to work overtime hours two days a month (Lien and Month End)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Performance Measurements
  • Excellent working relationship and communication with internal and external customers
  • Good working relationship with Accounts Payable & Finance departments
  • Limited number of data entry errors
  • Timeliness of cash application and of accounts receivable reports by management
  • Keep Accounts Receivable Manager apprised of workload fluctuations

Experience/Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent data entry skills - typing 10-key by touch
  • Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Good customer service skills, organization skills, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle stress successfully and maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage time, multi-task, and problem solve
  • Ability to work independently or as a team for assigned tasks
  • General computer skills (Windows, Office, Excel)
  • Proven ability to demonstrate strong analytical and investigative skills

Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Typical office environment with moderate noise level
  • Regularly requires standing, walking, sitting, use hands, reaching with hands and arms

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent /some college preferred
