The Business Capital Sales Analyst is responsible for supporting the business development efforts of the leverage finance team to generate meaningful incremental deal flow. This includes owning the CRM database for prospects and referral sources and working closely with the Managing Directors to bring in new portfolio companies. The analyst is expected to build robust financial models, recommend capital structure, complete opportunity memos, attend prospect meetings, and represent the firm at industry conferences.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain CRM database of prospects and referral sources
  • Work closely with Managing Directors on evaluation and advancement of new business opportunities
  • Develop relationships with prospects and referral sources including family offices, private equity groups, SBIC funds, accountants, attorneys and investment banks
  • Develop initial financial models and recommend capital structures for new opportunities
  • Complete opportunity memos, assess strengths and weakness, mitigate weaknesses
  • Assist in completing pitch decks, term sheet preparation and presentation
  • Attend industry conferences and trade shows

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven track record of building relationships
  • Polished, articulate and able to build positive and productive relationships
  • Practical judgment, highly analytical and high integrity
  • Demonstrated excellence in school, sport or other endeavors with clear passion to win
  • Result oriented, self-starter with strong sense of ownership
  • Exceptional work ethic
  • Resourceful and organized

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
  • Previous leverage finance experience, private equity, investment banking, accounting, or consulting with extensive financial modeling skills
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SalesForce

Level of Complexity and Scope:
  • Understand highly complex leveraged finance transactions
  • Build highly complex financial models from scratch

Degree of Independence and Decision-Making:
  • Collaborates with Supervisor and Managing Directors

  • None

Physical Requirements:
  • Up to 50% of the time
