AS A BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST, YOU WILL...

  • Collaborate with teachers to identify and develop behavioral interventions for special education students, affect positive behavioral change in students, provide supporting interventions to families and/or students.
  • Provides positive behavior supports (PBS) to teachers, parents, and other members of the IEP team;
  • Monitors the behavior plan of students in special education;
  • Develops model behavior plan templates for facilitating identification, documenting intervention data, and coordinating individual student goals and progress toward behavior goals; Monitors plans for teacher accountability and student success
  • Provides initial and ongoing professional development training for staff in order to build capacity for outstanding behavior intervention service delivery; Collaborates with staff and administration to facilitate an understanding of the impact behavior has on student academic success, the importance of building a school-wide support system for students, parents, learning coaches, and teachers;
  • Establishes a parent group for the purpose of establishing a Parent Advisory Committee for Behavior Intervention Services and Parent Support;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Flexible schedule; Ability to travel up to 35%
  • Ability to pass required background check

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in human services, psychology, or social work, AND
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with students with behavioral issues OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in social work or psychology, AND
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with students with behavioral issues
