WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Experience Studio lab tech role is a very unique role. First, and foremost we take care of the lab test environment. This test environment is used to test the deployment of new exhibits and features to existing exhibits before they are deployed to a production environment. These exhibits range from google products to proprietary show control systems developed by the Experience Studio Engineering team.

In addition to maintaining and testing, the lab tech is level 3 support for the production centers. If the Site Techs or Technical service managers escalate an issue or request, the lab techs will diagnose and resolve the issue or escalate to the Technical Integration Leads or Engineering teams respectfully.

The lab tech needs to have a full understanding of many different technologies/disciplines to provide the best possible support for both the production centers and lab space. As a lab tech we need to understand every little detail pertaining to how a center or lab is structured in order to quickly diagnose and resolve potential issues. This includes, but not limited to, hardware (both AV equipment and OS driven machines), networking (usually OSI layers 1-3), scripting support (our exhibit machines are deployed / maintained via scripts), python and javascript support (our exhibits are primarily JS and python based).
