Description: Our client is currently seeking a Associate Director, Procurement

The role of Associate Director, Procurement is to ensure efficient acquisition of contract development and manufacturing services from third party CDMO suppliers that enables the commercialization and distribution of our products. The role will need to interact effectively with senior leaders to ensure alignment with and delivery of business objectives, and ensuring that all sourcing strategies are compliant and follow company sourcing process.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of this role include the following:

Support Supplier Cost Savings Initiatives

• Support strategic cost savings initiative process
• Manage the tracking and reporting of cost savings measures
• Interface with finance to establish EBITDA values for initiatives

• Help identify cost saving opportunities within the CDMO network
• Assist with strategies and initiatives to permanently improve sourcing results

Support Supplier Business Review and Continuous Improvement

• Initiate electronic supplier rating system to track performance enabling continuous improvement
• Proactively manage ongoing rating and tiering system for existing CDMOs
• Gather critical supplier data and create business review presentations
• Lead supplier business review meetings
• Ensures that each supplier relationship is established with a bias for continuous improvement
• Supports development and monitoring of key performance indicators that demonstrate improvements

Lead Sourcing Initiatives through Project Chartering through Contract Management

• Accountable for development and implementation of robust sourcing strategies that link to core business deliverables while leveraging knowledge of the marketplace and supplier community
• Provides leadership and direction for cross-functional teams, Builds high performing engagement models across business units
• Utilize the Sourcing Process tools and techniques to create breakthrough strategies that deliver quick wins and generate legitimate business value
• Interface with colleagues from across the business to define business requirements and facilitate the data driven decision making process for selecting the best solution
• Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions both with internal and external stakeholders, including legal and finance. Performs detailed analysis of supplier proposals and payment schedules and conducts rigorous price negotiations with suppliers.

General Procurement Activities

• Evaluating and monitoring the risk profile of the supply base, identify mitigation targets, and implement risk improvement initiatives.
• Supply savings, business review and RFP status slides for various weekly and monthly meetings
• Manage supplier contract listing and database submissions
• Manage supplier meeting schedules at DCAT, CPhI and other industry events
• Participate / assist with ad-hoc projects

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree required. BA/BS in a technical discipline desired. Master's degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
• Certification: Professional procurement certification (CPSM, MCIPS, Etc.) desired.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years combined in sourcing/procurement with at least 7 years in the Pharmaceutical industry and at least 3 years in sourcing/procurement of contract development and manufacturing services from third party CDMO suppliers.
