Position SummaryThe Associate Director of Student Involvement is a student-centered educator that organizes activities with student and staff leadership to provide opportunities for meaningful engagement and leadership development in college while helping to create a sense of belonging on campus. Reporting to the Dean of Student Involvement, this position will oversee the New Student Orientation program, work as a collaborative partner in the division to ensure a diverse array of student-centered, inclusive, and harm reductive programming is offered. This position will advise major student-directed organizations that govern the student activity fee's usage, provide leadership training and work collaboratively across campus to ensure an inclusive and educational welcome week. As an intentional educator, this individual will work closely with other staff and faculty as part of an intellectually rigorous and diverse campus.
Responsibilities
* Oversees the new student orientation programming* Advises student-led organizations* Partners with key campus stakeholders to facilitate programming* Facilitate leadership development through 1:1 and group advising· Develop and provide Leadership Development/Training
* Master's degree and three years (post-master's) of relevant experience in college or university student affairs, organizational leadership, college student development, or related field or 5 years of relevant experience* Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, including late nights and weekends (depending on the schedule of campus activities)* The ability to communicate effectively utilizing various modes of communication* Champions diversity, equity, and inclusion* Works effectively within a team environment* Ability to utilize interpersonal skills to collaborate across all levels of campus constituency* Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and efficiently manage their workload
