Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the coordination, oversight and execution of Nucor's accounting, reporting, and internal control related activities. This position reports directly to the Controller and will serve as backup for the Controller, Accountant, AP, and Credit & Collections. The successful candidate will coordinate and execute accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, cost accounting, tax and inventory management. The Associate Controller will have a lead role in the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies, GAAP compliance, control and system improvements. They will also be responsible for supervising audit processes to ensure that proper internal controls are maintained. The Associate Controller will be responsible for training, development and growth opportunities for finance department Teammates. The candidate must also possess the ability to develop an in-depth understanding of the production environment and have the ability to be the financial liaison with the division management team. This role will also be an integral part of developing teammates from all departments, and be a contributing member of the division leadership team. The successful candidate must be willing and able to relocate to take on further leadership responsibilities within Nucor, now, and in the future.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience in an accounting or finance related role

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA, CMA, Master's Degree, or MBA
• Manufacturing or Cost Accounting experience
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products
• SAP experience
• Prior leadership experience
