Assistant Registrar
Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar is now accepting applications for an Assistant Registrar to support the daily operations within the Office of the Registrar and campus academic units that require integration with the Student Information System and other supporting databases and systems across campus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Systems management
- Analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations to improve business processes within the Office of the Registrar.
- Support end users across campus in analyzing and improving complex business processes.
- Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimates, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation
- Trouble-shoot various computer applications that support campus academic operations, including the proper function and transfer of data.
- Analyze, test, and implement system upgrades to various student applications and determine how any change will impact downstream processes, employee training, and reporting.
- Collaborate with functional units within Enrollment Management to share best practices with systems implementation and provide an understanding of academic processes.
- Examine and test new systems features as directed by the Associate Registrar.
- Ensure systems are in compliance with campus policies.
- Assist with production of the Registrar operations calendar and work with units to schedule the system jobs that support the work of campus in a timely manner.
- Supervise the process for system access and security.
Data reporting and analysis
- Assist with the development of data reports and/or reporting tools dependent on system data.
- Write queries and analyze to isolate systems issues. Track systems issues toward their resolution.
- Respond to data requests from campus units.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate the Degree Audit System Specialist and the Application Integration Specialist.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or any combination totaling two (2) years (24 months) from the following categories:
- College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent: 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months); Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months); 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months); Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months).
- Work experience in IT-related functions, such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with information systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated experience focusing on business analyst/implementation roles and/or project management functions.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating and improving complex business processes.
- Demonstrated experience working with student information systems.
- Two or more years of experience working in a higher education setting.
- Experience with relational databases, data analysis, and developing queries using SQL or a report- writing tool.
- Supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with diverse populations, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and administrators.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute detailed processes and procedures.
- General knowledge of higher education processes and policy.
- Knowledge of FERPA.
Appointment Information: This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5031 - Information Technology Technical Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Minimum salary for this position is $75,000.00. We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints. The final salary offer will be determined through a thorough assessment of these elements.
