PAY GRADE: 29ECONTEXT OF JOB:The Office of Undergraduate Admissions receives more than 30,000 first year and transfer student applications per year, hosts on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, and maintains a prospect list of nearly 300,000 students nationwide and throughout the world.Under the Deputy Director, the Assistant Director will assist in the recruitment and enrollment of first year and transfer students primarily within Delaware. The Assistant Director is expected to implement strategic initiatives around diversity, evaluate and make decisions on applicants, and build relationships to achieve enrollment goals. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:· Review freshman and transfer applications for undergraduate admission.· Build and develop relationships with high school counselors, Community Based Organizations, and prospective students and families.· Conduct admissions recruitment travel in an assigned territory with visits to high schools, college fairs, and other recruitment and yield events.· Participates in open house events and assists in creating special events for the recruitment and admission of first-year students including on- and off-campus programming.· Conducts presentations to small and large groups regarding the first-year admissions processes.· Coordinates multicultural events for prospective and admitted students.· Responsible for coordinating a team of 25 student employees identified as Diversity Enrichment Leaders.· Performs other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director. QUALIFICATIONS:· Bachelor's degree and two-three years of direct or related experience· Knowledge of student recruitment and admissions standards is required.· Proficient computer skills and use of presentation software.· Knowledge of CRM, Technolutions Slate is desirable, but not required.· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet aggressive deadlines.· Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community required.· Experience coordinating or assisting in multicultural programs and events.· Effective written and oral communication skills.· Bilingual fluency in another language is desirable.· Ability to present effectively to small and large groups.· Ability to multi-task, work independently, and work as a team member to achieve common goals. · Ability to exercise sound judgment independently.· Demonstrated understanding and consideration of the differing needs and concerns of individuals with varying identities, cultures, and backgrounds.· Committed to fostering a workplace culture of belonging, where diversity is celebrated, and equity is a core value. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: · Valid driver's license.· Reliable access to transportation.· Ability to travel and work extended hours including some weekends and evenings.
