JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Office of Civility & Community Standards (OCCS) is responsible for the implementation and exercise of planning, organizing, integration and completion of TWU's student disciplinary processes including academic integrity, behavioral misconduct, and sexual misconduct. The Director will exercise leadership and management responsibility for the areas of community standards, Title IX, Title VI, ADA (for students) and the Student Code of Conduct. In addition, the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of OCCS serves as the lead in the training, advisement, and education of students, faculty, staff, and administrators with regard to the Student Code of Conduct, student rights and responsibilities, hazing, sexual misconduct and other community standards. In addition, the Assistant Dean of Students serves as secondary support for all Dean of Students specific functions such as BAT/SOC committees, Student Withdrawals and Student complaints. Work is performed under minimal supervision with evaluation based on the effective operation of the administrative function. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

Reports to: Assistant Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students
Supervises: Associate Director, Civility & Community Standards/Civil Rights Investigator, Business Manager, and Student Services Legal Advisor

EDUCATION
Master's degree in a job-related field of study. Juris Doctor (JD) or terminal degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Five years of experience in higher education. Demonstrated experience in assessment, strategic planning, and managing in an educational setting. A high-level understanding of national trends and current best practices in student conduct administration and Title IX. Experience utilizing Maxient software is preferred and helpful though not required.
REQUIREMENT
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

Supervisors and employees should ensure that injury/accident reports are submitted to the Office of Human Resources and Risk Management within 24 hours of the incident.
