General Summary
Asphalt Plant & Crusher Electricians are responsible for installing and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following national electrical code. This position can be based out of either Anchorage or Palmer Alaska and will require some travel.
Essential Job Accountabilities
• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools.
• Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, using electronic test equipment and hand tools.
Education
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
Work Experience
• 5+ years of experience operating a hot plant preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams, blueprints, and use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Able to work with various voltages ranging but not limited to 4-20ma up to 600v AC and power generation on portable gear.
• Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, methods and technique
• See detail in objects or drawings and recognize slight differences in shapes or shadings; and picture flat drawings as 3-dimensional objects.

• Work in noisy and dusty conditions
• Follow instructions and meet set standards
• Make decisions based on verifiable standards.
• Work up to 7 days per week & 80+ hours per week
• Be willing to work travel and work remote for short durations
Physically, workers must be able to:
• Stoop, bend, and crouch
• Use hands, arms, and legs fully
• See well (either naturally or with correction)
• Lift up to 75 pounds
Additional Requirements/Skills
• Have a valid drivers license
• Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
• Demonstrate ability to learn Company's timekeeping and reporting systems.
• Ability and willingness to abide by Company's Code of Conduct daily.
• Ability to understand and comply with MSHA rules and regulations.
• Ability to react and quickly adapt in a fast-paced the plant environment.
